Giving away my milk – Part 1

First of all…

H A P P Y V A L E N T I N E ‘ S D A Y!!!! I hope everyone feels the love today and every day!

Now…since you all know, I pump a lot and nurse a lot, therefore, I have about 2 months worth of frozen breast milk. I don’t have room for it in my freezer, so I had to store it at my nearby relative’s freezer. She’s been great, but I know she’d like her freezer back for oh you know, food and such. So I’ve decided to donate the milk. Did you know that there is not one human milk bank in NYC or the surrounding areas? The closest one is in Massachusetts. So I am coordinating with them and I’m giving my milk away. I certainly don’t want to throw it away, it took so much time to stockpile..but I must admit…I’m a little weirded out but shipping my milk via fedex. OH WELL! Whatever…I’ll get over it. The milk is going to go help at risk newborns. What a great thought on this Valentine’s day 🙂

Tomorrow I’ll post the details about donating milk as an FYI. Would any of you mamis ever donate your milk?
